Volunteering

Each Varsity, JV, and Modified home game requires 3 volunteers to run the chains:

• 1 person operates the down marker

• 2 people hold the distance markers

If you haven’t done it before, don’t worry—the referees will walk you through everything. It’s simple to learn and gives you one of the best seats in the house to watch the game!

Each Varsity and JV home game requires 4 volunteers to assist in the concession stand. At this time, the Booster Club does not have enough cooks to open concessions for Modified games.

We encourage parents to volunteer at games their child is not playing in so that all families have the chance to watch their athletes on the field.

New this year: The Spencerport Sports Booster Club will donate $25 to the sports club of your choice for every concession shift worked. Be sure to enter “Football” when signing up so the donation comes back to the Football Parent Club.

Spencerport Sports Booster Club Pilot Program:

For the 2025-26 concession year, we are introducing a pilot incentive program for our concession stand volunteers. Each filled slot will earn a $25 incentive which the volunteer will designate to the sports team of their choice. The sign-up process will be coordinated by Parent Liaisons, who will distribute the SignUp Genius link at the start of each season to all parents. Please note that funds will not be distributed directly to volunteers; rather, at the conclusion of each season, checks will be issued to the parent groups of the teams identified by volunteers. Teams without formalized parent groups will have funds retained in the Sports Booster account for future allocation.

Please note:

• Volunteers must personally sign up for the slots they wish to work; parent representatives may not reserve all slots for a team or designate substitute workers. Each slot must include the name, email address, and team designation of the volunteer.

• Parents are not restricted to signing up within the same season or concession stand that their student athlete participates in.

• Volunteers must sign in and work during their registered time; if absent, the team will not receive funds for that slot.

The family picnic needs volunteers to help cook food, bring supplies and more.

In keeping with tradition, parents are invited to host the varsity players and coaches for a team dinner. The location (such as your home) and menu are your choice. The timing, however, is set by the season schedule; team dinners take place after practice, on the evening before a game. Please refer to the Sign Up Genius link provided to choose a date for hosting. If you wish, you may co-host with another parent.
